How ironic in his statements:"Until BUYERS actually accept and trust a payment mark en masse (ala Paypal or American Express), merchants won't adopt that mark en masse"I trust Google more than i trust Paypal...so yes if Google is to push GBuy towards a "trusted payment scheme", i'd use that if retailers adopt it.
@winkieIt's not the fees where the real bending over is for sellers, it's the complaint process. Basically, I will sum it up:1) Buyer complains2) Paypal refunds buyer at sellers expense3) Paypal investigates4) No one has ever gotten to this step (I think Paypal just assumes that the seller has forgotten all about their money by now)
@Lunchbox"What? Name a single google product or service that has been a failure."Google Talk. Lack of features and few users. Kind of underwhelming product - actually a failure.
@masamunecyrus "Google has a great setup going, right now. If they can get a deal with, say, Amazon, it will be simple."That will never happen. Amazon wants to eat Google's lunch, thus their A9 search engine. They would introduce their own payment system before co-branding with Google.
The best part about google talk is it uses port 80; it works in a corporate environment where MSN messenger or AOL's chat are blocked by firewall rules.
@hagnarwhen we are talking about GBuy vs. Paypal, the fees that Ebay.com charges to use it's site for auctions does not come into play. If you set up an auction on ebay, whether you choose GBuy or Paypal as your method of payment, ebay is going to take their auction fees no matter what. Then there will be GBuy or Paypal fees on top of that. Those are the numbers to compare. It has nothing to do with Ebay owning Paypal.
lol for you people who said google is trying to emulate Pay Pal hahaha that makes me laugh no way in hell are they trying to copy a lawless Co. as paypal. paypal is the wrose forum of scum on the internet and ebay knows this they may say ohh gbuys unsafe ohh gbuy's history is untraceable but they may feed you guys that bulls**t but I'm not falling for that s**t eBay's knows that if people use gbuy that there s**tty little paypal will crumble even faster then it is already Cause for 1. Gbuy doesn't freeze accounts to collect interest off peoples money and 2. gbuys is much cheaper fees then s**tpal and as of right now paypal only has 83 million active accounts unlike a couple years ago when they was at 133 million so something must be wrong with the pethice Co. and let us not forget that s**tpal got sued 9.3 million law suite and loss lol so if ebay thinks they can tell me that i cant use gbuy well they got another thing comeing cause i use it every day on ebay and im makeing a killing ;)btw you guys should vist these siteswww.paypalsucks.comwww.paypalwarning.com
