cgi.ebay.com — The seller seems legit enough, even though the auction smells like scam. Can it possibly be for real? Odd what people will bid on these days. Even stranger that the seller requests all sales through PayPal ... will PayPal even transact payments that high?

No way would that be legal and kosher. A jury will get to decide the terms of the contract - when he says "I peeked inside the box and it contains a BMW!!!1!", then he's promising a BMW to the winner. He breaches the contract if he doesn't cough up the BMW. This whole thing is sketchy beyond belief.

The box _IS_ the house.

"Bandoleer of Carrots, anybody?"Hah, except the Basket of Cabbage buyers actually GET something other than a huge empty box. ;)

And why would PayPal reimburse someone for a transaction that never occurred?

So with the current bid of $1.5M, this guy is going to give away $650,000 to non-winning bidders, $75,000 to charity, a $45,000 car, a $2,500 laptop, a $2,000 TV, $2,000 worth of consoles, $1,000 worth of games, and "hundreds" of other gifts, and the bidders don't smell the fish? I don't get it.

Yeah I think ebay smelt the rat now...Pretty stupid to actually bid on that, although there was some cool stuff listed
