256MB Cards seem to be quite crucial for this game. My 6800GS 256MB seems to be able to handle things fairly well...I'm going to have to see if my laptop can handle it (heh I think it might, but it'll look like Morrowind...on the xbox...on an old 20" TV)
I have a P4 2.0ghz 512mb ram and a radeon 9600pro. The game runs decently, albeit at 640x480 and medium settings. Even at that resolution it looks great though.
Has anyone out there tried running this on an ATI Radeon X-700 Pro card yet???? If someone is running this on a system similar in spec to mine, let me know how it runs. Here are my specs.....Sony Vaio P4 3.0 GHZ1 gig ramATI Radeon X-700 Pro 256mb (PCI express)
I agree with the person above me. Is your unmitigated hatred manifest on this article because it somehow offends your religious beliefs, like everything else seems to, or are you really just an assh**e across the board?
hey turgiddahlia.,your a chump. "upgrading isnt for chumps. why would you take a perfectly fine motherboard, with everything on it for that matter, and throw it in the garbage and start over, when the only issue is ,say, your cpu. or, video card???my specs: athlon 3500 socket 939, 2 gigs ram, antec 550 wat power sup, radeon 1900 xtyou would suggest starting from scratch just because i have a hanckering to go dual core?? chump
you all suck big time.. i can believe what are you talking about.. i have nForce3 with a semp2800+ 64, 1gb and a 9600pro 256 ram and i still play it in 1024x768 ( i have apolo workstation monitor and for some reason it displays only one res... 1024x768 60Hz) on mid settings and i am pleased with performance ... outdoors and combat 25fps town and dungeon 55fps... what is the prob? you all talk about some 2000$ custom computers and u are still unsatisfied... Anyone forgot we used to play mud mmorpg and liked it?
My last desktop was a P2 300mhz, 512ddr, ATI Rage(32mb?) had to have a sound and net card and was freaking huge so I couldn't take it along for LAN parties. Then got a HP laptop with integrated graphics(128mb) 1.73ghz 512(probably still ddr). So I'm glad I recently spent $865 to get Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33ghz, 2g ddr2 1066mhz, ASUS GeForce 8600 GTS 256mb ddr3 motherboard with integrated 7ch hi-def sound and gigabit ethernet, 320g Seagate SATA HD, mATX board with quadcore support and case with 500watt(compared to other 100-300 watt cases). And I play in 1440 x 900 widescreen with HDR, no need for AA at higher res anyway. All just so I could play F.E.A.R. and Oblivion. If you have a comp as bad or old as the ones I did upgrading is a lifesaver. I play with all settings maxed out and have several graphic mods for Oblivion and still runs smooth like butter and never crashed yet. I tried playing with the Oldblivion mod but on my laptop...it's not the same.
