@CMfly:The reason fir this is, because once notepad will display those CJK characters, it will switch to unicode.While you're saving it (save as) look at the Encoding combo box.
After creating the file and then opening a CMD session and using the more command to look at the file, turns out More also has a problem with that particular text string. If you use the type command, it does not.It'd be funny to see how far back this particular gem goes...
I almost named it "test" with out the extension (I was doing a rename of a "New Text Document.txt") but that's because I spend more time on my Mac and Linux boxes.
