scroogle.org — Interesting read on some of the areas the Mozilla foundation has been making money. "In June 2005, we read that a Silicon Valley blogger with alleged insider information was reporting that the Mozilla Foundation was raking in $30 million annually from their Google connection"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Mozilla Foundation (non-profit, owns the code to Mozilla/Firefox/etc) have employees that work full-time on their products? The money to pay their wages has to come from somewhere.

It's not about Firefox being free as in not making money, it's that it shouldn't serve a master, even if it is the bloggers' favorite company. Serving your favorite master is still not freedom.

Well good for them. The software is still open source. If they make money that only goes to prove that open source software is profitable and can seriously be considered a legitimate business model. Go Mozilla!
