robert.to — If you have a UV light handy, you'll discover a world of secret messages printed on licenses, credit cards, and other official documents as an anti-counterfeiting measure. This web page has some nice photos of the UV ink on a Visa Card, a Master Card, and a CA driver's license.

@ij00mini , I can't tell if you're joking ... either way, it's a dove. Or maybe a pigeon ;-)

I work in a bank and I can assure you that such a pen does exist. They are not used much but there is a pen that will turn a counterfeit US bill black when applied.Canadian money has much more advanced anit-counterfeit methods. The new series bills have the bill denomination in green and red UV visible ink.http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/banknotes/education/5-10_jour_poster_new2.pdf

The author is an idiot if he thinks its an eagle. It is a dove, just like he one in the hologram. Whoever can't tell the difference needs to get out more. Eagle heads, wings, tails, and feet are all much different from this dove's.Here is a link to a corporate visa page that describes their plans for moving the "well-known Visa dove hologram" from the front to the back (3rd paragraph):http://www.corporate.visa.com/md/nr/press253.jspIf you search Google Images for "dove", you will see several that are the same general shape as the one in the picture, with its wings fluttering in much the same way. If you then search Google Images for "eagle" you will see an altogether differently shaped bird.

There are actually three different colors on the California drivers license. They are as follows: Neon Red, Neon Orange, and Neon Green. It is one of the hardest ID's to fake along with the New York State license and of course the US Passport. There is also a difference between UV and Hologram images. The halo-gram on the license is visible under a certain amount f light and when moved reflects that light and gives off different colors. Some states have decided to use a rainbow effect, but California has used a special paint that reflects light over the whole band of visible light giving off no rainbow effect.
