I imagine that since Open Office is getting so much press, they need to make sure that they need to make things all spiffy before an official release.I can wait. Hey do you know if anyone is working on spreadopenoffice? I thought that would be cool if there was a community like spredfirefox.
OpenOffice is getting very close to MS Office but it lacks some key features like send a Fax doc, address an envelope and a way to make it work like MS Word. I am very impressed with how far 2.0 has come and use it install it on friends and family PCs all the time. I have also been using WordPerfect Office 12 and it too is a good alternative!

...nevermind. I skimmed TFA, and just RTFA. Early as next week, or as late as the end of the month. Woo.

I'd download it, but I'm waiting for RC7 which will be out next month.
