She didn't get fired because she uses a Mac. She got fired because Macs don't have a good spell checker. I heart my mac.

"In the real world of publishing? No. Law? No. Web development? No. Education? No.Office drones typing memos and sending emails of their kid's photos? Yes.More powerful and efficient? *sigh*."Ok, first of all, I know plenty of web design offices in this area(Toronto), and most use PCs. To think that most businesses use Macs is just stupid. To call all people who work on PCs "drones" is just plain stupid and naive and condescending on your part. As for Mac vs. PC efficiency, I've used both for my work EXTENSIVELY(mostly macromedia products), and I've found that I get more work done on a PC than I do on a mac. Their interface DESIGN(read: not visuals) fits my workflow better and is more efficient. -Matt

I have had similar experiences, when I my PB to get the WEP key put it the tech staff at my college flipped at me and were poking and prodding it like monkeys on a monolith. They ultimately frowned at me and said that I had made a mistake and paid too much. I politely walked out.

After reading the article, I realize that this story is not really anti-Apple. The real issue here is collegiate politics, with the Apple comment being a lame excuse to further discredit a faculty member in bad standing with the assembly. The issue is how the assembly feels about this faculty member; not Apple computers.I find it quite sad that Mac fans would make such to do about an article which has one arbitrary statement referring to Apple.

Aww, poor babies. Well, the school has the rights to set the rules just like businesses do. If you don't like them go to a school or business that has lower standards.

i've found that a lot of mac users are just like democrats who blindly followed john kerry and anyone who uses a PC is "dumb for using them" like anyone who voted for bush was "ignorant and uninformed".it's about choice. and what you think is best for you. i'm a fan of both.
