@rhyne2000If you're getting frustrated with Firefox, don't go back to Avant lol. Download Opera instead, it's now free in case you missed the article that got 3000 diggs lol.
"I will switch to whichever product is currently the best one. I would hope that others do the same."The "best product" is a matter of subjective opinion. You are entitled to your opinion and so is PCWorld. When Opera used to charge for an ad-free version, it seemed everyone complained what a crappy browser it was and how you had to pay to remove the ads. Now Opera is free and it seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. My theory is some people are not content with a product once it attains semi-mainstream status. Now that grandmothers are using Firefox, I guess you can't be "1337" anymore unless you use something different.I downloaded Opera 8 and was somewhat disappointed. Opera comes out of the box configured in a way that I do not like. I have to go through the preferences and turn off way too many things that are not beneficial to my browsing experience. In the end, I uninstalled it. Opera renders pages in an unusual manner and generally lacks the smoothness and refinement of other competing browsers. I have seen the speed test measurements and I am not impressed by the numbers. Opera might be quick when first installed, but when I used Opera and Firefox side by side for a full hour, I still believe Firefox is the faster browser. You can show me all the numbers you want, Firefox feels quicker, renders pages smoothly, blocks ads, and looks better than Opera. I will not be switching anytime soon.
@lokes: I don't want to use Firefox without any extensions, they're the only reason I use FF. Oh, and that 1/10 issue that's not the extensions, but FF's fault? That's bloody annoying, because it's a huge hole in the ground where all my memory goes. And yes, the memory leak *is* FF's fault.@seaton: Well, not everyone has the possibility to use POP3 everywhere. I check my mail in a lot of different places, and I need a webmail for that. In addition, most POP3 mail addresses are provided by ISP's or work. What if I change jobs or ISP? But you wouldn't know, you've probably never had a reason to leave AOL...Anyway, if you've never used webmail on a regular basis, then maybe you should not mouth off about it; you obviously haven't made the slightest effort to find out the difference between GMail and other webmail. FYI, I've had my main email, a hotmail address since 1997 or eraly 1998 (from before MS bought it), and I still use it.

I decided to switch to Opera a few weeks back and I couldn't be happier. Firefox's memory issues were a little too annoying for me.

The Rio is the "most sleek" mp3 player? This list must be pre iPod nano.
