I love how they say it'll take Windows application support to encourage running OS X. Did the article writers just pass through a time warp from 1997? What program doesn't run on the Mac? Halo runs on the Mac. Office runs on there, too. Photoshop and the like were originally written for the Mac.

Being able to dual boot either Windows or Mac OSX would make the Apple machines more attractive than other standard PCs and justify the premium one would pay over a HP or Dell. The consumer trend is towards internet-based applications where the OS would matter less, but this dual-boot ability will bring people to buy Apple computers instead of standard PCs.

Apple really needs to help out with the darwine project. We don't necessarily need to be able to run the latest windows apps but at least the few year old ones would be nice. And now with the Intel transition halfway done, Apple could do a lot to get darwine moving. PowerPC versions would still suck due to having to run QEMU emulator.http://darwine.opendarwin.org/faq.php
