as cool a hack as this is, it kind of takes the slim out of it, eh? similar to the 3.5" mac mini HDs, this is technically nice, but effectively destroys the purpose of the smaller chassis. nice info though.

That's some insane soldering. There's a new product out called USBExtreme that lets you hook up a USB hard disk to your slim PS2. It's been found to be very annoying and incompatible, though.
