"But the interest has faded rapidly according to observers, with Zune now falling far behind even the SanDisk or Creative MP3 players on Amazon.com – which is often used as the ‘bell weather’ for gadget sales."That is such a lie. Amazon has NEVER been used as a bell weather for anything. Do any of you remember it being used at any time in the past? It was picked up as a talking point by some fanboy who wanted to push the idea that the Zune was a flop at launch. After real sales numbers came out it shut up alot of those who were pushing that line. But it looks like the die hard anti Zune folks needed to get that old Amazon.com sales rank talking point back to the forefront. So they dismiss actual numbers and rely on the word of "observers" to keep their "I hate Zune" crusade going. Notice how those "observers" are not identified. You wonder why? Oh yeah the comments section is closed too. Nice. Do you think all the fankids that rushed out to criticize the real sales numbers will come out to question these observers observations? Doubt it.But sorry, fankids, the Zune sales are not falling off as much as you wish and hope they were.
True - not falling off as much as I wish :-)However, they are falling off, and seeing as they never even got started well.. sorry fankid it means their wont be as many sold as you wish and hope they were.
@flag564Face facts. The Zune is going to be eaten alive by Creative and Archos, just like the iPod has been losing market share to Creative and Archos ever since the end of the 2005 Christmas season. The Zune was never intended to compete with the iPod, because it's market share is already shrinking thanks to Creative. The Zune needs to compete with Creative, and they're not doing a very good job of it now that most the "Early Adopters" have already bought in. There'll be another spike around Christmas, but after that Creative will grind Zune under it's heel. iPod? Feh, who cares? It's already lost 10% to 15% of it's peak market share in the last year alone.
