engadget.com — "The latest on hack front comes to us courtesy of Zune Boards member Marshilboy, who whipped up a little something that does away with the Zune's guest sync feature, instead letting you sync any Zune as if it were the "home" Zune."

functionality wise, zunes are better than the ipods. i can't wait for zune 2.0; i'm sure it'll be packed with more goodiesi must say microsoft has some catching up to do against the itunes though

Microsoft should have designed a player themselves instead of just updating the toshiba player. Instead they assumed that being cool and turning it into a status symbol would make the device sell......i wonder where they got that idea? Functionality beats trendy crap any day, but neither the iPod or Zune can fill that role, its the classic theme of technology, one has too much, one has too little.Zune was definitely rushed to market, when they make a new device now that they have tested the waters, it will probably be very nice.

Yes, but why should a company the size of Microsoft have had to listen to music companies at all? Remember they could have released the player without a store (or even with PlaysForSure support) and simply sold it with whatever features they liked. That is Microsoft biggest flaw, it has tremedous power but when it's not activley using it to evil ends like killing competitors, it's doing the next worse thing by simply not using the power it has for the good of anyone.

metalhead are there any setting I'm missing? I cant play anything on my Zune by clicking on songs from it while in the Zune software, I also cant drag anything either. The only way i can play music is clicking something in the library. This is after applying that guest patch also. Also what i was getting at was trying to clarify some of what a previous poster has said.

" "You can move music on or off in guest mode."Why would I need to move music from my iPod to my computer since my computer contains all the music I have on my iPod? "Are you serious? This is obviously a way for you to give music to another computer

even though I am like 80 days late, I have to say that I needed this to copy my music off my zune to my formatted PC, surprisingly worked like a charm
