a flac file is = in size to an entire albulm recorded at 192kbps is why, a portable device which is not intended to put out audio quality much beyond what you can expect from a set of ear buds is wasting it's time supporting flac....I will give you the nod that supporting flac would cost them nothing even if I personally believe you would have to be a moron to use it with a portable device.
Am I the only one that is pissed that the headphone jack is on the bottom. If I want to use it in my car hooked up to my car deck i will have to have the thing upside down. Seriously? WTF?
Nowadays they are just doing USB instead of device specific docks/connections. For example, the EX model of the new Honda Insight has a female USB input where you can connect your phone/iPod/Zune/flash drive/etc with the USB cable you received with your device.

Why hasn't anyone thought of doing Zune HD web apps? The iPhone has them, the Palm Pre is built on them. I'm going to make a suite of them in PHP.

Not to support the iTunes store, but you never 'had' to use it if you didn't want to. Unless you're in favour of the Zune Marketplace, then okay.
