mashable.com — Perhaps this has been going on for a while, but I’ve never noticed it before. YouTube users often create an original video using their favorite popular song as the audio. I’m afraid that they won’t be able to do that much longer, since YouTube has started muting videos that use unauthorized copyrighted music

The only difference is, I don't bitch when I'm caught or my pirating sources get taken down.Take a vicodin and chill, man.

You know what the problem is with what you said there Abooth? Logic; RIAA doesn't understand it. Those guys wouldn't understand the industry even if the solution would be freaking tossed right into their faces (which happens, again, and again, and again).People who use Youtube as an actual music player aren't potential customers in the first place. Until now, Youtube has perhaps been the best advertisement for the music and videos on the Internet, and that without costing the companies a single penny.

I checked out his video about the DMCA. He did not prove to me that it wasn't in fact Viacom that made the claim. He simply stated that it wasn't checked, but I don't understand how he came to that conclusion. He also has a number of "conspiracy" type videos, which leads me to distrust him even more. I found it interesting that he was upset that YouTube didn't verify if there was copyright infringement in the video before removing it. There's no possible way they could dedicate the resources to doing that. They let you make a claim if you believe it was falsely removed, I think that is more than generous. I just don't see how you can put YouTube at fault. They provide a free service and are doing the best they can considering that they have to comply with the (sometimes ridiculous) law.

F**K THE RIAA

You know what, f**k youtube,1. why show a widescreen player when the video is not, how hard would it be to send a player depending on it, now i have nice black bars even when not in fullscreen.2. the ANNOYING ads in the videos. i don't mind NEXT to the videos, but not over them.3. international restriction on some videos, fine i can accept that i can't play them, but since you already know where i am since you tell me my region can't play them, WHY do they show up in my search results. if i can't play them i don't want to see them4. Annotations on by default, pretty god damn annoying, especially since some people tend to fill the whole video with them, what do i care if you find 1:35 "LOL" or "PWNED" and now this./end rant

Are they supposed to mute videos with the full track or completely remove them? Even my altered audio videos are being removed despite not being the entire song. This is getting irritating considering most people really don't care about their music being on youtube let alone being on some random Halo video or motion graphics demostration.

yea I think it is stupid, if i put music in my video it does not mean that i'm selling the video or that i'm doing business with the song i just sharing my video, in fact the music in my video means that I own the copy of the original, wich means i'm not violating copyrights.by the way if you download the music in the videos it will sound horrible, not as digital as the original MP3 or CD sound.
