crave.cnet.com— Gone may be the days of remembering passwords or scanning your fingerprint to log on to your PC. If NecSoft's new authentication software catches on, all you'll need is your face.

Just my 2 cents:Biometrics of any type should not be the entire proof of identity for security uses. The ONLY real use for biometric identification via face should be in human-manned security checkpoints to check for troublemakers/terrorists. Non-manned cameras can easily be fooled by pictures, as stated above. As also stated above, a fingerprint is too easily faked (mythbusters). I'm just talking about face recognition.'Course, this is all coming from a guy who used L0phat liveCD on his bosses computer.....Physical access is 99% of the problem. : )
Damn timeout - should read: """there are computer security mechanisms that protect systems or information will happily kill to get at. It's a horrible thought, but true nonetheless. :S

Well after http://digg.com/security/Study_Weak_passwords_really_do_help_hackers - studies showing that (what we all already knew) - text passwords are often very little deterrents/barriers to intruders/crackers. Of course, when I was working abroad one year, there was a chap from another country who looked disturbingly like me - several people at our work would get us confused, regularly. Wonder what the % match would need to be to get past this sort of security?
