rd.com — "Almost a decade ago, the federal government dropped $100 million for an Earth-monitoring satellite that never made it into space. Today it sits in a closet in Maryland. Cost to taxpayers for storing it: $1 million a year." - That's just one expense... You'll want to read more.

Dude, you are an idiot.

Yeah, it makes sense because I said something about neocons, so you assumed I was a liberal and thus said something about liberals as your reaction. Then when I say I'm not a liberal, thus your reaction doesn't apply to me, you say it still makes sense.Damn, bizarro-reality must kick ass for you.

Did we need an article about this?? whats next? "MAN LANDS ON THE MOON!" Just in social security Regan took 300 BILLION out of SS then Bush39 took 350 BILLION and left an IOU the Clinton needed Billions so he took what was left but needed more so he took from Pensions. Then George came along and nothing was left to take so he raised the debt ceiling "another" 800 BILLION, and that was just what has been done to Social Security. All this was just to make minimum payments on the interest on the national debt. We are printing money to spend because we have nothing left and that is why the dollar is in the tank. The more we print the less it is worth!! Watch the movie "Maxed Out" it is about credit cards and debt. Everything in the movie applies on a grander scale to government spending. So when you hear Presidential hopefuls tell you what "more" they are going to do for you, remember they have no money, they are charging it and you are paying for it.. forever and for Chris M... I can assure you the government is not "getting swindled" out of anything, they are co-conspirators and know exactly the crimes they are perpetrating on the public. They are scratching each others back TO MAKE MONEY. Corporations are simply a tool for the government to swindle taxpayers out of even more money.

That is incorrect. I am self employed and must pay both my taxes and the "employer contribution" and the tax rate for the first 83k in income is over 50%.

Dates back to Lyndon B. Johnson's great society, and his proclamation of War On Poverty.

Urgent Care? For a rash? The staff was most likely helping people who actually needed "Urgent Care"....now if you have a heart attack and wait a few hours, then you can complain

It was implied by you mentioning "poor fellow man." That's a liberal phrase.

Hey, Mr. Canadian...Why don't you pack up and go home? Who asked you to come here anyway?

anyone who thinks they can run a government with less than 30% waste is a fool. I doubt anyone here manages less than 15% waste in their tiny, easily managed personal budget.Imagine how difficult it is to do the same with a budget 250,000,000 times bigger, and it's not even your money. Trying to 'fix' this problem is a job for people who believe in unicorns.

Absolutely agreed. Believe me, I don't feel any moral obligation to pay taxes. It's fear of being caught that keeps me in line. I would still give to charity and pay for security in some manner, hopefully a postal service and maybe some interstate commerce rules would be nice. The rest of the Federal system can go away and I'll be a happy camper.

The average American would give a s**t if there wasn't a big dick stuck in his assh**e.

Never notice the exemptions section on the W-2s? No? Then I guess for you that is true.I claim 6 and invest my money during the year and pay in April 15 (or get an extension, depending on how I invest and withdraw for no penalty).

Hey, onewisemomma...I do not think the Canadian IS here in the USA. Maybe if you read, you would know that already. If you are too stupid to realize that there is always room for improvement and consider any such talk as "self-loathing" as many neocon morons do, they I suggest you crawl under a rock with all your conservative assh**e pals and stay just like you are, ignorant and angry. And, who asked YOU to come here, be here, stay here?

In 1997 I used to contract with the post office in St. Paul, MN to write technical manuals for custom software that they develop in house for all the POs. They gave me a project I could easily do in a month and gave me 6 months to do it. No. They required me to take 6 months to do it. The bosses and programmers screwed around all day talking about their pez dispenser collection, or leaving altogether to go golfing. I wasn't going to tell on them, but I couldn't believe that was actually how things were.Just after that, i bolted for San Francisco in mid-boom and worked for half as much and 12-16 hour days, 7 days a week working for a .com startup. I had more fun at that job and learned more that I would have during a lifetime at that lazy ass government paid job. My stock didn't pan out, but I can get nearly any IT job I want now. Instead I work for myself and do everything right from the start.
