I live in arlington as well, you have to watch you bill every month because they will try and sneak it fees or simply fail to make changes to your bill they promised in the hopes you won't notice.

I called the FCC, they said that if your lease states that the landlord has the right to sign exclusivity, then you're SOL. if it doesn't then you need to look at the bottom of your cable bill, and it should have the number for your local franchising authority. You can call them to file a complaint and seek assistance. Unfortunately, internet is unregulated, and there's nothing you can do. But at least you can give them grief about signing exclusivity for cable. If you live in a homeowners' association, then the association CANNOT enter into any exclusivity deal for cable, at all. You definitely can turn them into your local franchising authority. On a side note: It was amazingly easy to get in touch with someone at the FCC, and she was very informative.

I also live in Minneapolis and have Comcast, I've never had any problems with them.

Boycott Comcast and AT&T and their plan to destroy net neutrality for high profits.

I live in the NW Suburbs. I have had Comcast for years and have loved the fast upload speeds. However, periodically I would lose the connection. Now, I am disconnected every two to four hours. On some days I only am ON for a few minutes and cannot reconnect for a long time. I work from home on a VPN once a week, a couple weeks ago the connection had a "bad day" where I was out for hours ...it had a true negative impact on work. Now I noticed that I'm being "throttled" on BT. (Comcast is being sued for it...essentially it kicks you off BitTorrent seeding.) This to me is the last straw. However, it seems that AT&T DSL is the only other option. I know it's slower (only the 1.5 mbps *supposed* speed is available here) but it cannot be worse than being cut off all the time.Any thoughts on this? I can't believe we live in a major metropolitan area and our choices are so limited :(
