The town's actions did set the race relations clock backwards, it was a blatant insult to many of the Muslim faith because it was implied to reflect their personal beliefs, which it most likely does not. The thing that many people in the West do not understand (and many are so brainwashed by anti-Muslim propaganda that they may never fully comprehend) is that the negative practices are not in Islam/the Qur'an at all, but are cultural practices. Those who do practice many of these negative things are not real Muslims. The undue blame placed upon the religion is equivalent to saying that an atheist from Italy (or any other predominantly Christian nation) who throws acid on some woman is practicing a Christian belief outlined in the Bible. Furthermore, in many countries with predominantly Muslim populations, the homicide rate is extremely low compared to other countries with predominantly Christian populations, therefore, using the flawed logic that y'all are using, they can say that Christians are murderers (which isn't true, because no REAL Christian would kill anybody). And to Stonegeek and whoever else- these things do happen, but don't happen in Islamic culture. They happen in cultures that pertain to certain nations or areas (ex. Afghanistan, Iran, India, Kenya), NOT a religion! Also, many women fully embrace their right to be "pure" and do such things as cover themselves. It helps them to abstain from negative activities. Nobody in the West or anywhere cannot say that provocative dress or showing too much skin oftentimes leads women to get raped. Much Islamic tradition grew from the Prophet Muhammad instructing the tribal Arabs to protect their women, because before Islam, the Arabs were facing their "Dark Ages" with much warfare, tribal rivalry, etc.

yea, i saw this. The behavior of these people towards what they deem to be correct or not is shameful...and it has been going on for seven hundred years. Yes killing is wrong, and I don't think the US has gone about dealing with these people in the right way. however, these lunatics must be stopped or the whole world could be facing rule by the cruelty of Islamic radicals.Diggers, please comment on this subject and don't let the wrongs of our countries choices cloud your mind to be blinded from the evil that lurks in the middle east.
