@pickypgI was exaggerating a little but. But only a little bit. A graduate program has significantly fewer students overall compared to undergrad where there is usually a higher percentage of females, and statistically there usually aren't many females in the field to begin with. Therefore, it is likely there aren't going to be very many females in the program. I'm not sure what that has to do with optimism, anyway, since it's not like I desperately wish there will be lots of girls in the program. Generally I'm kind of a militant optimist about things, and that's how I've gotten where I am today. I'm content with only a few of us. However, the guys may have a different opinion.
