IP addresses don't always work well, especially if you're behind a corporate proxy.Some sites have used cookies, but other people have also saved a marker using Adobe Flash itself. This is often used because it's not as easy to delete as a cookie.P.S. If you're a web developer, don't use that trick for evil. Thanks.
now if only they could add statistics on where someone came from when they got rickroll'd you'd have a popularity ranking for certain things on the ENTIRE internet
Maybe a mixture of both.Record IP and Cookie( if it see both then dont count )If it only sees the IP lets say 24hrs after the first hit then count again.
