ok so i agree that the overall feel is much nicer, but a couple things are a little off about this:1. as mentioned above you removed the related videos, ads, and director videos. this definitely simplifies the page making it feel 'cleaner' but i'm confident these items are pretty important to youtube. the related videos and director videos lead people into more content. think about when you use the site - i often browse for other videos through the related content. 2. why change the logo to blue? just to differentiate it? changing the logo is a pretty big brand decision.3. there's about 50px of lost white space in the header. while it does make the top fell more 'open,' the less you have up top, the more content shows up above the page fold. 4. the post a comment link gets a little lost in grey. 5. not sure if i agree with the decision to put syndication over the embed information. to me that stuff is directly related to the video and should be under the description, whereas the syndication information is secondary.so here's what i like: your icons, the shorter main nav, and the more subtle boxes around content. as a designer i think the real design challenge here is maintaining the content of the page while changing its appearance. i'd love to see a mockup of that.

Thing is, is the larger typeface is more easily read by people with eyesight problems. It's all about usability in the end.
