So they get paid to host someone else's videos, and make profit?What of the original creators of the film, do they recieve a percentage of the revenue?
Interesting that Youtube is paying the media giants in place of the pirating Youtube users, I actually think this is such a smart deal. Now users can pirate all they want on Youtube legitimately, Youtube won't have lawsuits coming their way (well, at least from EMI and Heart-Argyle) and still have lots of traffic, and whoever they signed a pact with now gets to recoup their lost audience and some advertising revenue back. This is a gamble, but it's a good gamble that they have a good chance of winning. Smart. Now Youtube can really become a giant for the masses.
