Just really need to develop safer, more intelligent autopilot for when you're near cities, and only let people take manual control when the only thing they're likely to land on is trees and grass. It'd probably reduce accidents a lot, to be honest. Suddenly your highways and roads are for takeoffs and landings, and all your 2-lane roads become layered 10 lane highways. You don't really have traffic jams anymore, nor road rage. You'd probably still get people fighting over parking spots though.Needs to be cheaper to operate than gas though.
Cars are capable of going 180 km/h but the highway limit is only 100 km/h for a reason. If everyone gets flying cars, there's going to be a lot of traffic.
*hope.ie, I hope it'll never be built. I really do not want to live anywhere with all my neighbours flying overhead. Think about it, ground-bound traffic accidents are bad enough, but do you trust your neighbours to drive/maintain their 'car' good enough for air travel?

There are a hell lot of people that have trouble navigating a simple two dimensional street. You really wanna add a third?

It's not a flying car until it files. I've been reading this BS all my life.I expected to see it fly, but no bloody pictures like all the rest.

The Yee - named after the noise everyone makes when they hear news of a flying car.
