I was wrong about the "Prevent Dragging" option, it works even without it checked. It just takes a while for the "Keep below..." setting to go into effect. Digg down my previous comment. Thanks.

I prefer Sidebar over Dashboard, at least on a widescreen monitor - it doesn't take up that much space and the gadgets are always just a glance away without having to hit a key/press a button.

Not a good start for me...After I upgraded, I tried to load a new widget & got an error.Shortly after that, my Firefox crashed.I do like Yahoo Widgets believe it or not, but one thing that I've always hated about their widget gallery is that you can't sort widgets according to popularity. From what I can see, there's only "older" and "newer".

No doubt. A key combination or auto-hide would have made vista sidebar more compelling. I'm sticking with google desktop for now.

"""It could be possible,if everyone decided on XHTML standard just like Opera did. Yes, Opera widgets are pure xhtml/ajax etc."""I believe that OS X widgets are also primarily created using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Also, KDE 4's widget thing will use KHTML/KJS just like OS X's Dashboard does (albeit in modified form), so I believe that we'll be able to use OS X widgets on KDE 4. :D
