While personally I couldn't agree with you more, Yahoo have been geared more towards being a "web portal" for a long time. If however I utilised more of those features I guess I would be more excited. I think this is a good move for them as it shows they are still willing to innovate (debatable I know) and move forward. This is good, as the internet needs a strong alternative to Google and if web traffic stats are anything to go by Yahoo is definitely a strong alternative. Maybe not as strong in the search statistics but on the web portal side of things they have their niche covered.
