DID YOU KNOW THAT???There has almost always been something called the IEAK. The Internet Explorer Adapter Kit. It allows you to customize the install options, home page, title, etc of IE. You go through this wizard, set your settings, and it makes an IE package. Yahoo apparently had the IE7AK and used it, and rolled it out. I don't know exactly how that is "beating to the punch", since they are releasing MS software created with an MS tool. However I can say that the verification and logging process for putting anything on MS.com is quite extensive and takes a while.
Can someone who have installed IE 7 do an little experiment to see will the built in Phishing Filter and the Anti-spoofing thing deny the access of <a class="user" href="http://www.ie7.com">http://www.ie7.com</a> ?:P
"lol yahoo added their toolbar, homepage, search and logo to it I'm guessing?"yep, this is what they call "optimization" lol@lakawak:1. what does Google have to do with the story?2. i can't recall even a single program that i've used being bundled with a google searchbar and i can think of at least 4 that had yahoo searchbar...
This is really funny guys, how should we call a customized (probably done by IEAK) version of IE 7 is an Optimized version of IE 7 ? Yahoo customized IE 7 for Yahoo home page and its services rather than taking the source code from MS and make it more efficient. There is a lot of difference between "Customization" and "Optimization"No one can optimize IE 7 right with in its heart...except Microsoft, since it owns the code.
Yahoo has come a long way over the years, but much of their software is just too intrusive for my tastes. Personally, I prefer Google for search, and I really have no use for either company's toolbar. Toolbars are overrated anyway. ;)

Who cares?Microsoft had a schedule and stuck to it and it was nice enough to give it to Yahoo before they planned to release it.
