news.com.com— Terry Semel, the CEO of Yahoo, wishes he had pursued purchasing Google. "I couldn't and didn't buy this company and the rest is history,"

"In the annals of missed opportunities by tech CEOs, Yahoo Chief Terry Semel has a doozy"What is a "doozy"? I do wish techwriters wouldn't use hickspeak.
ChronoCracker, I couldn't find myself any more opposed to that. Yahoo Mail Beta (yes, the Beta that people have been waiting to try out) sucks straight monkey turd; I've tried it using both Firefox and IE6, and its a good day when it doesn't crash either browser. The UI is completely unnavigable, and their SpamGuard (for both Mail and Messenger) is complete, utter crap (Loads of spam everyday with the Yahoo account; one spam on an average of two weeks with Gmail, even with the Gmail account being plastered onto several Yahoo groups and mailing lists). And that's just the tip of the iceberg.Yahoo sucks, period.

I have no idea how this go to the front page when it is such a short and relatively uninformative article. WEZ

It's not really news as much as it is funny. It just goes to show that even before google was kicking yahoos butt....google was kicking yahoos butt.

Or maybe the combined entity might be stronger?Who's to say?

I don't get it. If he couldn't afford it then why does he regret it? It's kind of like me regretting not being able to buy a classic Ferrari.
