symfony-project.com — The release of the new Yahoo! Bookmarks Beta has been on all the news portals lately. Yahoo! Bookmarks has 20 million users, and is available in 12 languages (and counting). But the real news about the new Yahoo! Bookmarks is that it was built with symfony; one of the most popular PHP frameworks.

Guys, god forbid someone's dumbfounded by all these new acronyms and asks an innocent qustion... there's no need to tear into him.

SymFony is a model-view-controller framework written in PHP. Its role is the same of Rails to Ruby. Ajax is a web client to web server communication technology that may or may not be included in a web application in a MVC framework..NET 1.1 and 2.0 are Microsoft technologies that have nothing to do with PHP (unless someone has made a PHP bytecode compiler for the .NET platform - who knows? They have one for Ruby :)

I know its still in beta but its a frustrating experience. If you upload a wrong set of bookmarks and you want to delete them en masse you have to do it manually. There is no delete all option. Nor is there a delete folder option. Odd, considering it says it has in the help files. Need a lot of work, imho.

Actually there is a delete folder option. Just select the folder on the left, and click edit. On that page there will be all the options available to change a folder, including delete.

Thanks, thegoodtomchi. I was confused as I clicked on the folder in the left panel and then tried clicking on edit on the right panel. The edit link was actually on the left panel next to the folder all along. Hard to spot as it is just a small text link and not an icon.Thank you for your help.

Because Yahoo is a strong supporter of PHP.
