agreed, if someone is dumb enough to give out info over XBL they deserve to be taught a lesson.... this was not hacking, just advantage taking of the dumb.
happened to be before had to get my account back on my own... Microsoft doesn't help very much with this kind of stuff. You should go to xbox.com and copy all your friends names so you don't lose them!
"Hackers have control of Xbox live and there is nothing we can do about it." I laughed loudly when I read that, imagining Kent Brockman saying something like that."And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.":)
I actually had my account f**king hacked today. And yeah I am pissed. The sleeze balls used my credit card I like a dumbass saved on the account to rack up 9 $12.50 purchases for 1000 MS points each. Fortunetly the account was hacked within an hour of me turning the 360 off and leaving home to have come back and find my gamer tag was recovered on another console. I immediately called 1800MYXBOX and was put on hold for 49 minutes to get an actual result. I get to keep the points, my bank refunded my money and changed the card number and I will have my gamertag in 3 days back safe and sound with another email account and a way better password. Gay ass gay.
call microsoft support and tell them exactly what happened, then tell them your gamertag, your xbox serial number and any other useful information. Then check to see if the guy bought anything and tell microsoft if they did...They will freeze your account making it unusable and will try to trace your account by using any type of data he received from there servers at a given time. This happened to me 2 days ago and now i have microsoft on there highest level of investigation, tracking my problem for the next 2 weeks...Having a credit card attached to this account was almost a bonus because the guy bought things through the account on his xbox. They are trying to locate the xbox and get my account back by tracing the purchases via the credit card and he information for the xbox's information and such...

any unified authentication system is going to suffer the exact same problem. It's a flaw in the concept, rather than the implementation.
