ps3.ign.com — Big, open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a severe cost on the PS3. There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Compared to the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it even begins to affect gameplay!

What a crock of sh**. Seriously, I am disappointed. This is crazy. I have played Ac for about 2 hours now. Believe me, no framerate or tearing issues. I also read this review earlier today. So, to test it out. I played kind of fast. Meaning, doing silly things to attract attention to myself so there will be more enemies on screen. Running around the city and all of that. You know what, no framerate issues. IGN, for shame. Its almost like, they have to stick in a line about PS3 framerates into every review they write. If there were some issues, I would like to know specific examples. For that matter, they didn't even talk about it at length either. Just threw in one line and that's it. Gametrailers is much better when it comes to reviews.

Funny because Game Spot says the exact opposite that the frame rate is BETTER on the PS3:http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/assassinscreed/ ...From playing, I once had a seriously bad framerate drop on the 360 version. It had to be 15-20fps. It was probably because I had 15 or so guards chasing me at once and I was running full speed through a crowd. Now I don't know who to believe.

gamesradar gave it a 10/10 - does that mean it's a perfect game? These reviews are getting ridiculous

Wish I could judge the game for myself but Amazon pushed my delivery date back till the 23rd. Obviously this pissed me off and I learned my lesson after sending a nasty ranting email to them, never pre-order games from Amazon, they don't ship them till launch day, you have to pay extra for shipping unless you are happy to wait a week for the usps and they oversell their pre-orders leaving mugs like me in the cold. On the bright side I went to Best Buy down the street, they didn't yet have stock in but I pre-ordered with them for pickup after 5pm.
