Although the Divx stuff is great, I'm pretty f'ing pissed that they bricked my concole YET AGAIN!!! This is now my second console that has been bricked thanks to Microcraps dashboard updates. Luckily since I live in Canada they simply replace your xbox if you have any problems, but they put you through a HUGE ordeal of making sure that it's not the power supply, the hard drive, the ventilation ect....Now... if was as easy as just replacing the console every time they bricked it, that wouldn't be a problem for me. I can go the month without the box if it's going to be replaced. However.... this time when I called XBOX support, the girl said that my 3 year warranty expires on January 27th, 2008 and that after that no replacements will be issued. I asked her what happens if the console is rendered useless due to Microsofts actions(ie: updates bricking my system) and not because of a part wearing out or missuse? She said that after that the warranty is no longer valid and I would have to pay for any repairs myself or buy a new XBOX. I say *&^% that!!!!!!!!!!! Why the hell should I have to pay for a problem that Microsoft has caused????????? My console was working fine(just like my previous 360) until the second it took the update. Immediately after that it was freezing so I then hit the power button and guess what..... you got it, 3 flashing red lights saying your $&@*ed buddy!!!! I don't care if my console was 10 years old, if Mircosoft causes the problem it's their baby! If you bring your car to the mechanic to have a overhaul on your engine done, and the second you turn your car on the engine blows up into a million pieces, who's fault is it? It sure isn't my fault, I didn't touch the $@&*ing engine.... just like I didn't screw with the software in the XBOX to make it freeze, Microsoft did!! But Microsoft will never admit that they are causing numerous systems to be rendered useless. However, you can tell it's happening because when the update was released I had to wait a good 30 minutes on hold until I could talk to someone in tech support. I wish one of the tech support people would come out and tell us how many calls really come in for consoles that have been bricked due to the updates. All I know is that the next time this happens... and it will happen again.... I'm going to be a proud owner of a PS3. Screw this Microsoft bull$#*&.
