"IPTV can work with all Xbox360s"MS has already said that wasn't the case, and is probably the reason they are adding hdmiI hope you may be off about the internet service provider having to support it, because if that is the case the only thing the 360 is doing is acting as a DVR. I don't see that as being worth it to MS
"your service provider (Comcast, AT&T, etc) is going to have to support that feature"Or in my case, our service provider (Shaw) is not going to support that feature
"Or in my case, our service provider (Shaw) is not going to support that feature"Yes, but you see Shaw is using their "choice" to not support IPTV. That's the great thing about choices - you can choose not to do anything.
While I agree with your sentiment, unless that old hard drive you have laying around is a 2.5" model, it ain't gonna work in your PS3. But yeah, the easy "modding" that you can do with a PS3 via the hard drive is something that Microsoft should take notice. Hell, consumers should definitely take notice. That along with the added costs of a proprietary headset for Xbox Live versus being able to use the same Bluetooth headset you have for your cell phone which will work with the PS3 for their online services. Being able to use non-proprietary memory cards on the PS3 - as opposed to the 360 - is something else that should be considered...Sony really needs to get a PS3 down to the $399 level...and quick. Maybe by dropping the Emotion Engine (like the European models) and bundling a wired SixAxis controller - instead of the standard Bluetooth model - might help do the trick.
Actually, the 120GB hard-drive is rumored to cost under $200. I could be wrong, though, so feel free to correct me.And I do agree with you. Someone who is interested in purchasing a media-centric console should pay $20 and go for the cheaper PS3, rather than the 360 Elite. The 360 has awesome media capabilities, but because of the simple fact that the PS3 includes Blu-ray, I'm sure most, if not all media-addicts would choose it over the 360.I guess some people might prefer IPTV capabilities over Blu-ray, but you have to rely on your cable provider for the service, and not everyone has the bandwidth for it. The IPTV market is relatively smaller than the HD market.
