Some people are jazzed to pick this up for the HDMI capability. Me for example, I have a 67" Samsung DLP and when I use the VGA cables so that I can upscale DVD's, I get a 2" black border around my screen. Hours with tech support with Microsnatch and Samsung have proven futile. I am seriously stoked to see if I can eliminate this problem with HDMI. Furthermore, for all those of you complaining about price, I am still puzzled. Ya see, there is this whole generation of us that grew up on videogames, went on to be successful computer nerds, and we have the money to but stuff like this. As much as they avoid this answer, they charge big bucks for technology these days cause people like me are shelling out the cash to get it for us, and our spoiled kids, THAT is why they can get away with a PS3 for $650 after tax. Yes it is completely insane, but it is idiots like us, that have to have all the techie gear, that are fueling the constanly skyrocketing prices of game consoles and other technology. The only thing I have a huge problem with is the cost of games. It does not cost any more money to produce a good game today, then it did on the PS2, or Xbox. Raising the cost of the games is just greed. If they would provide a quality game like Gears, or Resistance, they sell enough copies to not have to worrie about offending their customers by charging $60 a game, that is just crazy...On a side note, that Al Sharpton comment made me laugh out loud, that is freakin hilarious...
While it's pretty cool that someone got the Elite early, Target might be in trouble. Just yesterday at work I saw an email that said if you see any vendors breaking the street date rule to call some 1-800 number and report them.
@ raleigh29I think I tried that, and that mine will not resize the screen when in VGA mode, but I will totally try that when I get home. Another stupid thing is that Samsung does not let you "tweak" the pic on VGA, so contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness controls are all disabled, another reason I want HDMI :-)
Not surprised. They already have the black-colored accessories (including a pack that has a wireless controller, play-and-charge kit, and rechargable battery pack) at Fry's. It's $69.99.
I've read all the comments.. seems to me there are a lot of monkey-minded fuds trying to outsine each other with their collective wit .. not one of you has noticed that this guy and me have the same carpet .. now that's what I call synchronicity (don't care if I messed up the spelling).
As a former Target employ I can tell you that its always the managers that accidentally sell s**t early. They never check to make sure the date matches the date on the bright orange tape and then someone tells them after they sell half the stock early.

I'm not sure what's worse - the street date being broken or some idiot actually purchasing Xbox 360 V2.0
