hardocp.com— We here at HardOCP got a chance to take a gander at the tentative Xbox360 roadmap last week. Here are some of the goodies that are in store: HD-DVD; 1080P; and a media jukebox.

I think it's a matter of maturity. 'convergence' has been a buzz word for so long now that everyone has become jaded to the idea, but once it actually happens, I'm quite sure I'll love it. There's just a tremendous amount of crap to get through first. i.e. hd-dvd vs blu-ray, digital rights management, hdcp?, hd vs sd, digital vs analog tv signals...Some day we'll all be able to watch any tv show/movie we want on-demand through our xbox or playstation in pure digital high-definition with a couple of clicks in an elegant interface...and it might happen sooner that you think.
You must not play any square games. that's $13 a month.Either way $50 a year for the services XBL provides is more than worth it to me.I'd also like to point out that I can buy that HD-DVD add-on when I feel like it. I don't HAVE to buy it so I can play, for instance, Halo 3.
when it first comes out you might not have to buy it but after awhile i will bet you anything that M$ will dumb down the graphics on the normal DVDs and make it so if you want decent graphics you will need an hd-dvd add-on i don't get how no one else sees this coming it's M$ for god sakes
I'd rather have the choice in what i'm being nickle and dimed about than just get flat out mugged and pay for features I'm probably never going to use.

This is why i decided to wait on buying a 360. I knew microsoft was just rushing to get their system on the market first.
