And now it?s time for Vista to sink or swim. Ina Fried has a good overview of where Windows XP will stand with PC manufacturers. And Matt Asay highlights a report from Evans Data

Got a brand new laptop, and have it set to dual boot, in CASE I need XP. Have never had to boot in XP at all (moved to another country, and bought a new printer/scanner there which was already Vista-ready), and love Vista. Not a problem at all :) I'd never go back to XP now--UAC is kinda annoying, but I'm just too lazy to turn it off right now. I'd say its biggest problem on that end is that it caters to the stupidest users in the market--the ones who'll just click yes to anything that tries to download itself to their computer.

Just cuz Vista's getting shipped out on new computers doesn't mean we have to use it! Vista leaves a lot to be desired and I think Microsoft is too arrogant and stubborn to make this fixes it needs. I'm sticking with XP... for now.

Re: Windows XP era ends June 30 According to the latest MS blurb from Bill Veghte Senior Vice President Microsoft Corporation, http://www.microsoft.com/windows/letter.html....we will continue to provide security updates and other critical updates for Windows XP until April, 2014As an avid user of XP, this is great news. They can stick Vista where the sun don't shine!!
