ibloggedthis.com — XM Radio basically tells the RIAA to shove it! They won't be bullied around by the RIAA and they'll fight them! "We will vigorously defend these radios and your right to enjoy them in court and before Congress, and we expect to win."

Why are you idiots digging any post down that says "Archiving for repeated use is illegal?" It's true! Read the fine print and deal! Why do you think the MPAA & RIAA want DRM's and other protection nonsense on playback devices? Self-killing dvd's anyone? They are always trying to push this concept of limited, restrained and/or pay-per-experience useage.

I think the RIAA's goal is to piss off everyone so that nobody buys music legally anymore. I don't understand their logic in many of these cases. Its all ploy to get more $$$! What about the artist who actually created the work and is taking it in the a** on his/her record deal? From my understanding, artists don't make more than a few cents for each album sold anyway. Keep making more pirates RIAA! ARRRR!

I respect what XM is trying to do and I have nothing bad to say about their desire to fight the lawsuit, but I really don't get the people that say "I'm gonna buy XM because they're fighting the RIAA, screw SIRIUS for backing down!!" If you're really going to invest in satellite radio because they're "fighting the good fight" then you know what? Send me some money because I hate the RIAA too.I've spent a good amount of time listening to XM and Sirius and I have to say that Sirius is superior to XM in so many ways. I don't consider myself an elitist when it comes to music, but I know the general sounds and genres that I like. If I want to listen to 2Pac I have a place to listen to him on Sirius, if I want Jack Johnson there's a place for that too.. and the songs on those stations are all pretty relevant to the genre with a great mix of known and unknown musicians. On the other hand, I've always had a hard time getting into XM because it feels like they want to throw you the most obscure music from a given genre. It's not fun and most of the time there's a reason no one's ever heard of the artist. So I guess my point is: Get it for a good reason and screw the bandwagon effect

XM sucks for anything hip-hop, jazz and reggae. They have a couple good adult contemp channels and their couontry lineup is supposedly pretty good... The only thing Sirius doesn't have is MLB. XM has no NPR, NFL, or NBA (they do have ESPN radio and PRI).Overall, having worked for a year at xm and knowing the environment, I'd go with sirius.,, just my 2 cents. The thing here to remember is Mr. Panero is smart enough to know RIAA would've maybe sued, they took a gamble and lost. They may cry bulls**t (and it is), but seems like they tried to get away with something they maybe shouldn't have. XM has more troubles than this, check out their google finance page. Shareholder lawsuit (they've never turned a profit), patent lawsuit, and SEC investigations.... if you want to keep your radio for a long time, get sirius, y'all

Since all satellite service providers share the same physical satellites, See: <a class="user" href="http://evdo-coverage.com/satellite-wireless-internet.html">http://evdo-coverage.com/satellite-wireless-internet.html</a> , they all face the same RIAA red tape and issues. I dont see why they wouldnt join up and stick together
