majornelson.com — Ok, we’re getting closer. I just learned that the May ‘07 dashboard release is set to be released just a few hours from now. To be more specific, the LIVE Operations team expects to start rolling out the update after 0200 PT tomorrow morning. I’ll make another post when the team start the roll out.

@charliecharlos Because Microsoft continues to add value to its overall functionality, and I for one, welcome the commitment.

I moved over to Mac a year ago, and some people use iSquint with success, I use Popcorn for DVD's and FFMPEG for AVI's.I used to use TMPEGENC in XP or any of Red Kawa's software (it all basically does MP4s)MPEG-4 or h.264 at really decent rates.# Added H.264 video support: Up to 10 Mbps peak, Baseline, Main, and High profiles with 2 channel AAC LC.# Added MPEG-4 Part 2 video support: Up to 5 Mbps peak, Simple Profile with 2 channel AAC LC.I have Boot Camp running so I can try this out in the morning, along with widescreen movies I ripped and converted. If this works like I want it to, I'm going to be so pleased with this. I did most of the videos I have converted at 1.5~2.0MB/sec They're passably decent looking. As I figure out how well this works with my network, the quality will be driven up.

Downloaded here, Australia. I guess the release time helped us out, 2am isn't so friendly for the American folk.

joper90:You don't know what the f**k you're talking about. DivX is a proprietary codec based on lossy MPEG-4 Part 2 compression. XviD is an open-source clone and competitor of DivX. None of these codecs are hacks of anything.

To the people who downloaded the update and have VGA, are there any fixes or updates?

I am going to wait a week for people to confirm there are no bugs. It is after all Microsoft and my Xbox 360 is out of warranty.
