cfdan.com — The problem I found with Pandora is that even with a minimal window, it meant there was another Internet Explorer / Firefox window open cluttering up my screen and I accidently either close the browser or refresh the window! I always thought it would be cool to have it run in the tasktray like Winamp and so took an hour off this evening to develop

Good job Batman. I'm loving it.

oh man, this is awesome. I love Pandora but don't often use it for this reason. I sent off an email to Pandora last week suggesting a widget that could do this. Thanks man.

I was thinking about reverse engineering the protocol to write a less memory-intensive client, but the flash...application uses SSL, so trusty Ethereal couldn't help much (unless I'm missing something.)

Maybe try decompiling the flash? I don't know how well this works, but you might at least be able to get the SSL key out of it.

Pandora's Jar works well too. <a class="user" href="http://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=828&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=720">http://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=828&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=720</a>It renames and tags all the music according to the song. Oh yeah, doesn't work with flash 9. Just fyi.Good wrapper app. I see no problem having it on the bar. And if I do, I just send it to another xoblite desktop. Still, good for those with the windows standard GUI.

I use Powermenu on all my systems too, however I just noticed something. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue; using powermenu to minimize an IE6 window to tray, the IE window kills itself immediately. I don't have this issue with Firefox or any other app. BTW, this thread seems to have any posting of an alternative to webtech's submission dugg down. I've seen other threads where Powermenu get's recommended and the posts are modded way up. Kind of wondering just how spammy this article submission is.

You could try going to Internet Explorer->Tools->Options and turn off Script DebuggingThis will solve the problem hopefully....

this power menu app people keep mentioning might be cool, but it has nowhere near the functionallity specific to pandora built into it compared to this pandora box application. with just a right click on the tray icon you can do most of the functions without even seeing the window.

Awsome, pandora has the most intuative layout and great recommendations. Last.fm was good but did not let you edit your last stations. This makes it even sweeter to use, thanks Dan.

How does Firefox need to be set up to allow this application to work? The Pandora window opens up, but the content appears blocked, probably by some setting...I allow pop-ups for Pandora.com, but do I need to do more?
