I am not really sure why this is special. This: http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=-124&storeId=10000124&langId=124&dualCurrId=1000075&categoryId=2581908&productId=4611686018425155677has been out for ages. It IS internal not external but if your just stuck a different port on the back i am not sure why it couldnt be external.

Um... The maximum power draw over USB 2.0 is 500 mW. How do they expect it to get up to 4.8 W while burning a CD? It CANNOT be bus powered!
