wordpress.org— Wordpress 2.0 Beta 1 has been released. No changelog yet since the changes have been big, even though you can't really see them.

I make my own. I've done several themes but I started out just by modifying the kubrick theme that comes with wordpress by default. It's decent enough that you can modify it to suit your needs and you don't have to start out from scratch.
Yeah, same here. I've been using WordPress since 1.2 on my own template -- was pretty hard when I upgraded from 1.2 to 1.5 -- with the new template system -- to switch, but once I did it I didn't have any problems and WordPress 2.0 works fine as well.Seriously, I think people who haven't/won't use it have a lot of thoughts in their mind -- most of which are untrue. So it's PHP and only those who use it know the true power of WordPress. WordPress is excellent, and I'm saying this as an x-typepad/moveabletype user (and for a short while Blogger). [1] It doesn't have a built-in spam prevention system, but the ones available as plugins (and very easy to install) are I think some of the best ones available to man.[2] It has an excellent template system. You can also download ready-made templates and modify them. One click install also.[3] Upgrading WordPress is just as MellerTime said. Replace all the files, except the wp-content and run wp-admin/upgrade.php.[4] When installed with the WYSIWYG plugin (which comes with an image manager) it's amazing how time saving it is.[5] If you think its one of those almost non-existen blogging systems which no one except for its makers' 1 or 2 friends use, famous blogger Robert Scoble just switched to this.Frankly, I don't see a reason not to use it. But then again, longtime users of Typepad, Blogger, MT, b2evolution, boastMachine, Drupal think the same.
Ummm, guys? I've been using the Wordpress 2.0 FINAL for several weeks now.The link posted in the Digg article links to a forum thread that started two months ago and was locked on the 5th December, 2005.The final/stable version of Wordpress 2.0 was released on December 31st, 2005, and information can be found about it here:<a class="user" href="http://wordpress.org/development/2005/12/wp2/">http://wordpress.org/development/2005/12/wp2/</a>
