I looked, and it appears (maybe I'm wrong) that Mysql is still firmly locked in as the only database backend. I thought that database agnosticism was, for at least a year, a priority goal. Did I miss something?

I pay attention to the WordPress development mailing lists and am responsible for one of the largest WordPress-based companies in existence. I have an ear at WordPress. You too could have known that WordPress 2.1 was slated for tomorrow (Jan 22). This, for instance, was on Jan 8 (<a class="user" href="http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2007-January/010218.html).">http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2007-January/010218.html).</a> Since then, Jan 22 has been the date.

for the record these are the ones that are currently supported for import:Old BloggerBlogwareDotClearGreyMatterLiveJournalMovable Type and TypePadRSSTextpatternWordPressI wonder if Blogger2.0 can be done via the RSS option?D(BTW, been running CVS wordpress 2.1, i was about to write my own customised one for myself instead of using 2.0 because of some letdowns, but, wordpress 2.1 is much better IMO)

God I hope that it'll import Old Blogger with comments this time. That's been a nightmare.
