I'm glad she got away with it, but I'm afraid it was an incredibly stupid thing to do. She risked her own death over a stupid car, and that just doesn't add up.A great advertisement for gun control, and more training for those who feel compelled to have one.In MD, she might have been arrested for having a weapon in the passenger compartment.
She was attacked by a criminal with a gun. How can anyone know the true intent of that criminal? There is no way to be certain that it was only the car that he was after. People with weapons who rob others have little regard for the well being of their victims. This woman properly decided not to become a victim and defend herself, not a stupid act. By not discharging the pistol, she demonstrated great gun control.
Being that this is FL and FL is a "stand your ground" state with no "duty to retreat" she could have just shot the guy in the face and killed him. Which would have been perfectly legal. Florida, f**k yea!
@Phaedryn Oh, I wasn't trying to say your statement was unreasonable or incorrect, I just wondered what you were basing it on, since often in these sorts of arguments people make similar generalizations without any actual empirical support. I'm glad to see this wasn't one of those cases. I just tend to think when you're making an important claim like that which many people may disagree with, it's good form to cite your source so they can examine it.

Your vague and insulting generalization does not constitute a rational position.
