blog.wired.com — A federal judge is awarding Tanya Andersen, who defeated the Recording Industry Association of America's file sharing lawsuit, $108,000 in legal fees to compensate for defending herself against the RIAA. This marks the second time that a target of the RIAA who beat a lawsuit was awarded attorney's fees.

People still buy new CDs?The last CD I bought was at least 5 years ago, and that was a few used Cds from a pawn shop. I imported the songs I wanted into iTunes and resold the CDs to the same shop.

Wishful thinking. However, Bush and Jack Thompson are STILL alive. I doubt anyone will take personal action against mysterious corporate suits at RIAA.

This isn't the first time this happens, and it won't be the last time.

Their payouts now are on performances and licensing to other media that sells. Very little from digital retailers.Payment for media is already now voluntary, war been over. No question RIAA practices are outdated and evil. But trying to pretend artists are receiving their compensation for their product is no different than RIAA's claims.Try truly educating yourself about the media-for-profit industry and how technology has impacted this business before cheerleading and offering solutions blindly. That's how the business slipped into the greedy hands of evil corporations in the first place.
