Science fiction is still Sci-Fi, however the "SciFi Channel" is now SyFy for a number of reasons. 1.) They don't only broadcast science fiction2.) They can trademark it3.) It's supposed to be more accessible and not carry the negative connotations of "Sci-Fi"4.) Their marketing people are idiots
catbeller: I'm not sure why you think tickets sales are not important, but tickets sales are hugely important. I'm not even going to elaborate because it's just so well understood and has been hashed out all over the Internet, so it's not worth reiterating here. I just suggest you do some investigation to see why it matters.
Here is how they come up with 4mil........they figured the movie should have made $110 million the first weekend......it made $85 million.......so they blame the short coming on piracy instead to make their shareholders feel better about the product....
I saw that old leaked copy but still went to see the movie twice at blockbuster pricing (9.30 USD) once with 6 other people and once with 4 other peopleIf it's good I'll go see it -_-
