I hit Universal old school way back in the 80's. Rode the King Kong bridge ride, scared the f**k out of me when a full size Kong showed up, I was four tho.
The only thing I remember actually functioning was the ET ride. Something to do with Ghostbusters and another one that had a simulated earthquake. And some stuntman show in the lagoon, kind of a Miami Vice themed event with speedboats.
The problem Universal Studios has is that it's land-locked in Orlando (same as Disneyland in California). Universal has to keep replacing old rides with new rides. Wal Disney World has more unused land than what they've built on, essentially that have unlimited land to build upon.
Man, that was more than 15 years ago. Park has changed a lot in that time but yeah I remember that.I also remember Epcot had like 4 rides total and Universe of Energy was breaking down all day long. And Animal Kingdom had two rides and the animals were nowhere to be found. The first couple years of new parks suck. Period. Except Islands of Adventure. That is the first park opening that ever lived up to the hype for me.

Haven't heard anything about Emma being there yet, but this site has a list of all the stars from the movie that will be attending on the opening day: http://www.destinationthemepark.com/park/2010/06/c ... - The list includes Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Rupert Grint (Ron) as well as a few more.
