I would understand if it was a MAN who has lived a long time homeless without much hope left in his life. But hes 18- EIGHTEEN. Hes capable of hunting f**ken BIRDS WITH GOD DAMN KNIFE. How many times have you attempted to catch a damn bird just to see if you can? Its difficult! If you're so desperate for food at 18 that you're hunting geese and threatening the lives of other people, then you obviously are in the position you're in for reasons that constitute putting you away and off the street. I know the economy is bad. I'm not debating that. But really- 18. It is NOT difficult to pull a minimum wage job and be able to at least afford food. Hell, join the military and all your food/home troubles are gone- they GIVE you a bed and food and give you money and eventually put you through college. Is the military for everyone? Not at all. Am I telling anyone to join it? No. Its the last choice people should resort to.. you know, when you don't have anywhere to live, you're 18, and you're hunting f**ken GEESE IN A PARK....but lets be serious here- why is he 18 and hunting geese and threatening to kill people for stopping him? Theres many possibilities like a bad upbringing and whatnot, but you're a serious hard-headed Generation-Y kid if you're under 25 (especially 21) if you can't even give in to a minimum wage "bitch job" to eat.At 18- you should not be resorting to this behavior in America. Yes, we have our problems, but 18 and homeless and hunting f**ken park geese in America? Get your head out of your ass, grow up, clean up mentally, and put your awesome manliness of hunting park geese to work as a construction worker or work for a lawn company or join the damn military. If you want to hunt, do it properly and out of a damn park.I'm not against the homeless at all- please don't get me wrong there. It is a serious problem with society. I help out people when I see they're missing a limb, or physically screwed up, and 50-60 years old with no possibility of getting a job. But honestly, my sympathy factor goes down when you get younger and more able-bodied... all the way till you're a teen or younger on the corner begging for money for your football team or something- I love yelling at the parents who sit there and allow their kids to do that... great mentality to instill in your kid../rant
"and the first paycheck won't be spent entirely on malt liquor either will it?"Only if all homeless people conform to the ridiculous stereotype you have in your head. I suppose they all carry their belongings in a bindle and play the harmonica as well, right? Those homeless people sure are easy to put into a deliberately asinine stereotype that allows us to dismiss their hardships, aren't they? Ha ha!
Actually it IS really hard to get a job, even one that pays minimum wage, particularly in a town like Madison, where you have a tons of college students trying to find summer work. If you think the situation is better than that, then you're living in a different America than I'm living in. Give the guy a break. He's just trying to survive.
I think you're wrong. "Nathan J. Kittoe, who had fishing equipment and bags of trash around a picnic table, told the 59-year-old woman that "he had a right to kill geese as they are his food," according to a Madison police incident report."He told her during the argument it was for food. Also, nosy people getting in everyone's business piss me off.
I live in Madison and this park is right next to the airport. These geese are constantly on the run ways and playing chicken with the planes and madison is trying to get rid of these flying pains in the ass, so i say go homeless guy you are officially a civil servant.
