One large part of any research is that there is a process of peer review. This research NEVER went through peer review (odds are it was submitted to a conference and DENIED) - So they simply put it online. It doesn't make any sense (unless all routers ran on exactly the same hardware with exactly the same software - neither of which is true) - so this has as much value as blogspam!!!
Genius. But it is an important point - diversification of computing systems that speak common languages to communicate but (for want of something better) use different native languages could provide some shielding to this issue.
