1) Wine emulates Windows system calls and other parts of the Windows OS, Filesystem, API.2) Emulation does NOT require that you Emulate a CPU core, nor any other hardware.3) Just because something is printed on WineHQ.org, doesn't make it true.
RE : " I don't get people choosing to support a company with licensing restrictions that are worse than those of MS. "Licensing restrictions? Imagine my surprise when I found that most Apple sourced software does NOT assume that I must be a software pirate...Install OS X Leopard (or iLife), and you get : No serial numbers, no activation keys, and no "Apple Genuine Advantage" type BS.NOTE : Install any "Third Party" shareware type software, and you get the "phone home" type actions that you are used to on a Windows OS.
"Wine emulates Windows system calls and other parts of the Windows OS"It doesn't emulate them, they don't necessarily work in the same way and thus are not an emulation."Emulation does NOT require that you Emulate a CPU core, nor any other hardware."That's true but in general, in computing the opposite is generally assumed as the precise meaning (hence the difference between visualization and emulation)"Just because something is printed on WineHQ.org, doesn't make it true."Unless you are a wine developer or have taken the time to analyses how portions of wine work then you can assume it is true.
1) I never said it is. I said you're trying to emulate Windows. See the dictionary for what "emulate" means.2) "I do want to play valve's games"And that is your reason for emulating windows. So you have both the tool and the motive :PSo my statement about Linux users trying to emulate Windows stands.Thank you for burying me, you proved me right.

Windows and Norton are too much trouble when Linux works just fine for security. Sorry but it's the truth.

Not true. I use Sam 2007 and they require 3.0 not 2.0

Actually, 1.0 will be released on the 17th - ie. tomorrow

Is there going to be a dozed "RC's"? This is kind of stupid. More than three RC's is ridiculous.
