I have vista and I really love it. There are a few compatibility issues with some of the older programs I used but even those are relatively rare.

IT Managers like myself know that Vista isnt worth the effort and expense of staff training until at least one service pack comes out. It doesnt help that Vista right now runs like a dog even after tweaking when compared to XP. I want all the CPU cycles I can get thank you very much. MS is of course aware that Vista isn't all that great versus XP. At the very least MS needs to do something about the anoying UAC in Vista. Even after disabling it in the group policy editor, you get more annoying prompts telling you that you have disabled it. Argh.

That's not a bug. That's a feature.

Vista is not a new operating system though. It's an XP patch. It's basically what XP SP3 should have been. And 10 years from now, you MIGHT be talking about how great Vista is. But we're in the now, and having to wait 10 years for an OS to become usable through patches/service packs is terrible.

I think the title should be changed to : Windows XP: The OS that died here!I'm comfortable around XP, but recently I tried Vista, even with 20 years of computing, I am totally lost, it's like I am a total n00b.RIP Windows.

Hmm... Exactly how I felt. I recently played with a new Laptop came with Vista. Boy...was I totally lost. It has nothing to do with whether it's a new OS or not, it simply felt discouraging to try and use it.
